ICCA Level 3 Coach - Director Cutting Edge Cricket
Rachel Webb
Rachel is the owner of Cutting Edge Cricket. From 2018/19 - 2020/21 Rachel was a senior assistant coach and head batting coach at Preston CC, and was the first female to coach in the VSDCA. She has coached in the girl’s and boys Northern Falcons programs and the NMCA U12s rep team. In June-July 2017, Rachel toured Sri Lanka and Malaysia coaching an U13 boys team of 16 players. In the same year, Rachel was involved in the Crusaders Outright Program, helping with the coaching at the MCG and then in 2019, she went to the UK with the Crusaders where she had the opportunity to play against English sides. She holds a Diploma in Sport Development, Certificate III & IV in Fitness, Bachelor of Sport Coaching and a Master of Sport Business and Integrity. Rachel was Captain of the womens 2nd XI at Plenty Valley CC in the Vicrotian Womens Premier competition in 2021/22 and is currently Director of Womens Cricket at Melbourne University CC. In the 2023/34 season Rachel has taken on the role as assistant batting coach at MUCC in the men's premier program.
CA Level 2 Coach - Tour Head Coach
Anthony McQuire
Anthony has been coaching and playing elite level cricket for over 35 years. He is currently High- Performance batting and mental skills coach at Melbourne University Cricket Club in the Victorian Premier Cricket Competition and has been involved with the club for the last seven years. He has also previously held positions as Head Coach at Camberwell Magpies and had consulting roles with other Victorian Premier teams. He has been a specialist private batting coach for over 25 years. As a player Anthony played for the Victorian second XI, the Prime Ministers XI against the West Indies, the Australian Country XI vs Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka, Canberra Comets and was a member of the NSW Sheffield Shield Squad and NSW Second XI. He was also a scholarship holder at the AIS Cricket Academy which included a tour of South Africa. Anthony is also a Licensed Unbeatable Mind Mental Skills coach and a qualified personal trainer. He is passionate about working with young elite cricketers to help develop their technical and mental skills in pursuit of goal achievement and reaching their full potential.
CA Level 2 Coach
Solomon Mire
Sol retired from playing international cricket for Zimbabwe in 2019 where he has represented his country in all formats. You may have seen him representing Zimbabwe at national level, including the 2015 ICC World Cup – where he hit that massive 103m 6 out of the ground against South Africa! He was also in the Melbourne Renegades line up in 2013/2014 and has been involved in Victorian Premier cricket clubs Essendon and Northcote.
CA Level 2 Coach
Jeff Callaway
Jeff is a veteran cricket coach with over 35 years experience and an extensive knowledge of the game. In his younger days, Jeff played at Collingwood VCA, captain-coached at Coburg CC and played and coached at Downend CC (UK). He was Director of Coaching at Preston CC in 2017/18 and worked with Cricket Victoria as a Coach Educator for over 10 years. Jeff is currently batting coach at Riverside Cricket Club in the DVCA.
CA Level 2 Coach
Alex Lewis
Alex has 10+ years experience in coaching cricket at both junior and senior level. He was head coach of Preston CC in the VSDCA for 4 years and has held coaching positions with the Northern Falcons, NMCA and is head of the Preston CC Pathway Development Squad. He is passionate about player development in all areas of the game and specifically spin bowling. Alex is currently an assistant coach and spin bowling specialist at Fitzroy Doncaster CC and is also the head coach their Academy Program. Alex is also Junior Director of coaching in the northern suburbs and runs level 1 coaching accreditation courses.
CA Level 1 Coach
Conroy Burton
Conroy is a wicket-keeper batsman. He began his cricketing journey at Research Eltham Collegians Cricket Club winning several junior premierships. Conroy played representative cricket for the DVCA, Plenty Valley Cricket Club, and the Northern Falcons. Additionally, Conroy played 1st XI cricket for Ivanhoe Grammar including winning the inaugural T20 competition for the school. He is currently playing 2nd XI at Greenvale Kangaroos Cricket Club in the Victorian Premier cricket competition. You would usually find Conroy coaching our Little Crickets Club and junior programs. He has been coaching cricket since 2019 to groups of students. Conroy is currently studying in his final year of a Bachelor of Cybersecurity and is also a karate instructor.
CA Level 1 Coach
Raj Nand
Raj is a batting all rounder and started his cricket journey representing the NMCA in the under 12s. He then made a move to the West, playing for Yarraville Club Cricket Club and also representing the Western Spirit in the pathways through all age groups and captained the under 16s team. He is currently playing premier cricket at Footscray Cricket Club in the 3rd XI. You will find Raj coaching the Junior Program and Little Crickets program. Raj is currently in his first year of University studying a Bachelor of Commerce.
CA Level 1 Coach
Ikroop Dhanoa
Ikroop is a local born and bred talent. He started his cricket journey at Bundoora United Cricket Club where he played his junior cricket, before moving on to playing for sub-district club, Plenty Valley where he was part of the 1st XI premiership team at only 15 years old. From U12s he has played representative level cricket for Victoria and the Northern region. With achievements playing in the following teams: U12 Victorian Vice Captain, U14 Northern Falcons captain x2, U15 Vic metro team, U16 Northern Falcons captain, U17 Vic metro team captain, U19 Victorian emerging players squad. Â Ikroop is currently playing in the 1st XI at Fitzroy Doncaster in the Victorian Premier cricket competition.
